Koda Kilhi is one of the two freshwater lakes in Fuvahmulah, located on the northern side of the island. Compared to its twin, Bandaara Kilhi, Koda Kilhi is smaller but equally captivating with its mirror-like waters surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. The lake is fringed by thick groves of screw pine, coconut palms, and freshwater reeds that create a tranquil natural setting.
The wetland is an important ecological habitat, home to various bird species, dragonflies, and aquatic life, making it a favorite spot for nature lovers and photographers. Its calm and secluded atmosphere invites visitors to unwind, enjoy the serenity, and connect with the island’s rich biodiversity. For locals, Koda Kilhi also carries cultural significance as a source of freshwater and a place of quiet retreat.
